Those kids taking someone's food out the fridge is unforgivable...especially if it was the last one lol

Their aunt was a lot more understanding than some people would be.

A perfectly sane Atago • 2 years ago

She would really make a good wife.

kyoshiromibu • 2 years ago

she is living more than any human it's only natural ^^

ilyonel • 2 years ago

she's still just a bit older than her brother, not 100+ yet.

HD Escone • 2 years ago

That makes the whole calling her a witch thing abit more iritating tbh, like i'd get it if those two were her great grandchildren and the mother was from somewhere else being warey, but as her sister in law calling her names like that...

ilyonel • 2 years ago

they are probably just jealous of her youthful appearance.
just kidding.

oh I see

She knows she'll outlive them, they'll only be around for 80 years or so.

They're lucky the witch is family...🤣🤣🤣

Annecy Change • 2 years ago

Lucky the witch isn't a real witch that turn them into pudding. Lol

Fun facts:
For the Kids' Meal episode, there's a slight difference compared to the manga and LN where the kids get a pudding a la mode rather than just a pudding cup. There, they go through their impressions of the fruits and ice cream that go along with the pudding.

For the Cream Croquettes episode, about the halflings Pikke and Pakke, these two are actually adults, and a married couple in fact. According to the LN, halflings are taught by their parents skills that will help them survive on their own. In Pikke and Pakke's case it's cooking. All halflings tend to be travelers and will exchange maps when meeting other halflings. Small detail that's hard to notice, halflings all have hairy feet. I don't know how far this anime will go, but halfings tend to show up frequently in the LN.
Biggest fun fact about this episode in particular, Pikke and Pakke were the FIRST chapter in the LN aside from the prologue. And Aletta didn't even show up until chapter 50 something lol.

JDC • 2 years ago

Side note: i'm pretty sure towards the end they were supposed to mean to say that they taught the bread man to make the knight's sauce vs the bread man teaching them... makes no sense.

ilyonel • 2 years ago

it's a translation error. pikke did say that he taught the bread guy how to make it.

Kranesh • 2 years ago

I love all these interesting facts, it's amazing how a series can do such worldbuilding with just a single place which is a restaurant.

♪ Dave the Cat™♫ • 2 years ago

So they're like hobbits?

Pyrodragon39 • 2 years ago

The word Halfling came before Hobbit. It came from a Scottish word that simply meant: a person who wasn't fully grown. The term Hobbit was created for the species when Lord of the Rings was published in 1954. In the book, the word Halfling was used to describe the Hobbits, so yeah, they're pretty much the same thing.

Anton LeMisroi • 2 years ago

the terms are interchangeable and both are used by tolkien, though hobbit is copyrighted, so subsequent fiction prefers halfling

♪ Dave the Cat™♫ • 2 years ago

I said LIKE hobbits lol a yes would have sufficed but thank you.

HD Escone • 2 years ago

Dreamblade • 2 years ago

Tfw no halfling girlfriend :(((

Kid Dynamo • 2 years ago

I see, I was wondering why there was mention of "haflings"
They are basically Hobbits minus the hairy feet

Dreamblade • 2 years ago

They did have hairy feet, but you can only glimpse them for a second, while they're walking to the door.

A perfectly sane Atago • 2 years ago

If they are like Aletta then their thing is being kids in appearance instead of horns like Aletta?

Pyrodragon39 • 2 years ago

Halflings are not demons like Aletta so they don't get a blessing from the Demon God. Halflings will look young for most of their lives. Aletta will look young for a long time as well, but that's because a demon has a longer lifespan than a human. In fact, she's actually older than the master.

Boto King • 2 years ago

Their basically Hobbits.

A perfectly sane Atago • 2 years ago

I bet one of them has a certain ring lmao

U.M.R • 2 years ago

If Aletta showed up only after chapter 50 then you mean the Chef do all the job alone from cooking to serving food? Or is there another waitress in the LN before Aletta?

Allen Liew • 2 years ago

Yes, for a while. Before that, the current chef was working with the previous Chef which is the grandfather of the current chef. Most probably for 10 years since his grandfather passed away 10 years ago.

And before that, the previous chef was working with her wife a.k.a the grandmother of current chef a.k.a the champion/hero of the other world that defeated the demon lord 70 years ago and blasted into "our" modern world and probably the reason for that Cat's door/portal opening to the other world (fantasy world).

// • 2 years ago

didn't read the LN but it's made appearant in the show that he ran the shop alone for some time.
